School Rules

National English School believes that discipline is the foundation of character. These rules help our students develop responsibility, respect, and self-discipline.

Attendance

  1. Students must be in school by the time of the first bell.
  2. Late arrival thrice in a month will require a parent meeting.
  3. Minimum 80% attendance is required to appear for final exams.
  4. Absence without prior intimation will be treated seriously.
  5. Students absent due to illness must submit a medical certificate (for more than 3 days).

Uniform & Appearance

  1. Full, clean, and ironed uniform is mandatory every day.
  2. Sports uniform only on PE / Games days — not every day.
  3. Black school shoes and white socks for regular days; white shoes for sports day.
  4. Hair to be neatly combed. Boys — short hair; girls — braided or tied.
  5. Nails must be trimmed. No nail polish, mehendi, or coloured accessories.
  6. No jewellery except small ear studs (for girls) and religious thread.

Inside Classroom

  1. Stand up and greet teachers as they enter.
  2. Raise hand before speaking.
  3. Do not leave seats without permission.
  4. Keep classroom clean — no littering.
  5. Do not write on walls, desks, or furniture.
  6. Respect all classmates — no bullying, name-calling, or teasing.

On Campus

  1. Move in silence in corridors during class hours.
  2. Use staircases properly — no running.
  3. Use dustbins; maintain cleanliness in washrooms and canteen.
  4. Do not damage plants, sports equipment, or school property.
  5. Respect all staff — teaching and non-teaching.

Gadgets & Valuables

  1. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited on campus.
  2. Smart watches, tablets, and personal electronics are not allowed.
  3. School is not responsible for loss of money, jewellery, or valuables.
  4. Do not bring sharp objects, chewing gum, or anything unrelated to studies.

Behaviour

  1. Honesty in all tests and exams — no copying or cheating.
  2. Use polite language — no abusive or offensive words.
  3. Physical fights, bullying, and discrimination are serious offences.
  4. Respect boys and girls equally.
  5. Respect all religions, communities, and backgrounds.

Transport (for bus users)

  1. Follow the bus schedule strictly.
  2. Listen to the bus in-charge / driver.
  3. Stay seated while the bus is moving.
  4. No shouting, pushing, or leaning out of windows.

Consequences

The school follows a graduated discipline policy:

  1. Verbal warning by teacher
  2. Written warning in diary
  3. Parent counselling
  4. Suspension (for serious offences)
  5. Expulsion (in extreme cases)
